Creative Ways of Living with Loss

Discover a different way of living with loss through a creative, embodied approach that blends movement, mindfulness, art and voice to help you express what words cannot, process emotions held in the body, and find new ways to navigate life with greater ease and understanding.

    About the Program

Creative Ways of Living with Loss is a gentle, experiential program that offers a different way of exploring life after loss—one that goes beyond words and engages the whole person. Through a combination of movement, mindfulness, creative expression and reflective practices, you will be supported to process your experiences in ways that feel natural, personal and deeply meaningful.

This program is for anyone navigating loss in its many forms—whether it be the loss of health, identity, relationships, independence, loved ones, career, financial security, or a sense of safety or trust. Rather than focusing solely on talking, the program recognises that loss is often held in the body, and that creative and embodied practices can open new pathways for expression, understanding and healing.

Across the program, you will be guided through grounding practices and creative modalities such as art, movement and voice, all offered within a supportive, person-centred environment that honours each individual’s pace and experience. There are opportunities for personal reflection as well as shared connection with others who are also learning to live with loss, fostering a sense of understanding, community and compassion.

By exploring creative ways of expressing and processing emotions—including those that can feel overwhelming, such as grief, anger, guilt or regret—you are supported to build self-awareness, resilience and a renewed sense of agency. You don’t need any artistic experience to participate in this program. We invite each person to discover their own way forward, helping them find meaning, strength and a greater sense of ease as they navigate life’s challenges.

    What previous attendees have said:

Extremely positive experience. Felt amazingly well cared for. – Sue

An immense help to me moving forward to a life learning to live with grief in a positive and productive way. – Marie

Thank you. I am grateful for the opportunity to spend a weekend focusing on grief in a safe, compassionate environment. – Stephanie

At Quest for Life, I had a crash course in courage. I see people who have been broken by grief and trauma. Pain is etched on their weary faces. Some of their lives seem unbearable to me. I see their faces soften, those deep lines relax, a hesitant smile play on their lips. They speak a hopeful sentence or two. These programs, carefully crafted and delicately tailored, open hearts and build solidarity. They teach us how to rebuild our shattered lives, how to engage with our pain and play with the possibilities of healing and a brighter future. We learn about the latest research, to guide and support us. At Quest, we find a home. – Wendy
