Suicide Prevention Australia Accreditation

Quest for Life has a strong commitment to reducing deaths by suicide.

Quest for Life achieved accreditation with Suicide Prevention Australia for our Healing Your Life and Moving Beyond Trauma programs in 2023. Suicide Prevention Australia is the national peak body for the suicide prevention sector, working towards an ambition of a world without suicide. This is an ambition that Quest supports.

Accreditation is awarded to programs committed to implementing safe, high-quality and effective suicide prevention and postvention programs.

Accreditation confirms that Quest’s policies, procedures and processes comply with Suicide Prevention Australia’s standards and that the principles of the National Communications Charter Action Guide are embedded in our organisation.

Assessment against the six Standards assists organisations to continually improve as well as provide assurance to consumers and funding providers that the suicide prevention programs delivered by an organisation are safe, high-quality and effective.

The Standards include:

  • Alignment
  • Lived & Living Experience of Suicide
  • Collaboration
  • Program Framework
  • Program Management
  • Program Outcomes & Knowledge Sharing

National Communications Charter

The National Communications Charter (The Charter) is a unified resource document which guides people in the mental health and suicide prevention sectors, government, business and community members to talk about mental ill-health and suicide.

The Charter guides ongoing efforts to improve mental health and wellbeing, as well as the way mental ill-health and suicide is spoken about within an organisation and with key stakeholders.

About Quest for Life’s programs

Residential programs at Quest provide a safe environment where people can find their own best answers to addressing their challenges. We offer practical self-help tools and strategies to heal the past, build a better future and restore hope and healing through our Healing Your Life and Moving Beyond Trauma programs, both of which are accredited with Suicide Prevention Australia.

Our results show a significant improvement in participants’ quantified mental wellbeing immediately after attending a program, and improvement continues to increase with time.
