Lesley is a counsellor and psychotherapist working in private practice in the eastern suburbs of Sydney. She works with individuals, couples and groups on a range of issues including: healing the past; life change and turning points; grief, loss and trauma; facing chronic and life-threatening illness; relationships; depression and anxiety; relaxation, stress management and meditation.
Also a Buddhist practitioner and a yoga and meditation teacher, Lesley integrates her knowledge and experience of western psychological approaches and the eastern wisdom traditions. As well working in private practice, Lesley is on the faculty of the Sydney Gestalt Institute, working as a facilitator and trainer on their four year post-graduate psychotherapy degree.
Previously, Lesley was a senior executive at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for many years. A series of life challenges, including overcoming a debilitating long-term illness, resulted in a profound change of direction at the age of 40, and has given her a deep and personal insight into the healing process.
With warmth, intelligence and compassion Lesley provides a safe, non-judgmental space in which to explore issues deeply, and to shine the light of awareness on what stands between the individual and peace of mind. Lesleyʼs professional and personal experience has convinced her that great transformation and healing can take place in the context of a supportive therapeutic relationship.
