First Responder Holistic Health & Wellbeing

Culturally sensitive workshops to support the physical, mental health and emotional wellbeing of first responders. Programs can be tailored to suit objectives and budget.

About the Workshop

Quest for Life workshops provide practical self-help techniques and strategies that complement and support people’s daily work and home challenges and enable people to regain a sense of control over their lives. Participants are encouraged to actively participate in their own wellbeing through education and information on research into neuroplasticity, epigenetics, meditation, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyle factors including nutrition, sleep, and exercise.

Workshops explore the importance of self-care and elements that create resilience and peace for those experiencing physical and emotional challenges that inevitably arise when working in high stress environments or when transitioning from first responder organisations into civilian life. These factors can also indelibly affect family members who are caring for their loved one or have been exposed vicariously to trauma, and are dealing with partners working with heavy workloads or rotating shifts.

Our aim is to support recovery, resilience and improved lifestyle through evidence-based tools and strategies. Our highly trained facilitators have an understanding of the unique culture of first responder organisations due to the high volume of personnel and their family members who attend our programs.

With a culturally sensitive focus to fit your organisation’s objectives, workshops provide:

  • A toolkit of practical strategies to support health, wellness and productivity
  • How to harness mind and body to reduce stress and improve performance
  • Research based meditation and relaxtion skills to support resilience
  • Importance of good sleep for optimal functioning
  • Identifying symptoms of burnout to prevent chronic stress and PTSD
  • Emotional regulation strategies
  • Practices to calm the nervous system during high-stress conditions
  • Effective workplace communication strategies
  • Nutrition and exercise to support mental health fitness
  • Links between drug/alcohol dependency and the ability to build resilience
